WEEKLY TOWN HALL Addressing opinions on Proposition 1, HJR4 and HJR6, all of which will be on the November ballot
There are several important items that we will be voting on in November. One of those is Proposition 1 having to do with the abortion laws in Idaho. Lisa and/or Keith Keller will give a presentation to give us their opinion on the initiative.
| A “yes” vote supports creating a right to reproductive freedom and privacy, declaring that the state can regulate abortion after the point of fetal viability, except in cases of medical emergency, and stating that the government can not interfere with the following personal decisions about reproductive healthcare:childbirth care;contraception;fertility treatment;miscarriage care; and prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum care. |
| A “no” vote opposes creating a right to reproductive freedom and privacy, declaring that the state can regulate abortion after the point of fetal viability, except in cases of medical emergency, and stating that the government can not interfere with personal decisions about reproductive healthcare. |
Sean Crystal will be at the town hall to give his opinion of the proposed State Constitutional amendment, HJR4, which would asks voters to change the Idaho Constitution so that only the Legislature — not voters — can decide whether marijuana and similar substances can ever be legalized or regulated.
HJR6 will also be discussed which would place Idaho’s existing English-as-official-language law into the State Constitution
Doors Open at 6:00 pm and the Town Hall starts promptly at 6:30 pm. The town hall will be held at The Westbank Convention Center, 525 River Parkway, Idaho Falls
