March 15 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

In today’s world we all need to be more self-reliant, and having a garden is just one of the many things we need to have.  Spring is coming soon and it’s time to start planning for your garden!  Dan will help us understand what we need to be doing.

Dan Christman is a dedicated Dad, Husband, teacher, homesteader, & market gardener. He and his wife Rosie & their 8 kids live on 10 acres in Rigby where they teach others how to provide more of their own food needs & how to be more self-reliant. They practice what they teach and are trying to eliminate going to the grocery store this year. The Christman Clan sells their produce through a local CSA, the Driggs farmers market and from the farm. Dan hasgardened in four states & two countries from sea level to 6500 feet. He is a life-long learner who believes that if you want to learn something, there is no better time than the present!

Class Summary;

Due to limited time this will be an overview of many useful gardening practices that help Dan & his team supply many local families with their veggie needs each year.  Come learn tips & tricks to make your gardening efforts in Idaho more successful & productive. Dan will cover soil building, season extension, variety selection, drip irrigation, weeds, local resources, seed preservation, seed saving and much more.
