Weekly Meeting – **Book Signing** – Ramina Wilkerson, ‘Escape from Baghdad, Journey to Freedom’ – Snake River Event Center (Shilo Inn, Idaho Falls)

Many of you heard a little from Ramina at our November 4^th event featuring Dinesh D’Souza.  On December 13^th, she will tell us more about her escape from Baghdad and her journey to freedom.  We will also have a ‘Book Signing’ of her book “Walking in the Shadow”, which is a stunning account of a young life chronicling experiences children shouldn’t have to face, defied expectations, and found refuge in the most unexpected way.

Ramina’s childhood was not normal by any means. She was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq.  Life challenges were a frequent occurrence for her and her family. They lived through numerous wars and escaped several execution attempts by the Iraqi government. They sought refuge in four different countries before coming to America.  They worked with the United Nations, Red Cross, and Unicef.  They faced persecution for their faith and for helping these organizations aid the poverty-stricken people of Iraq. Despite everything, Ramina would not change anything in her past as these experiences and challenges shaped who she is today. The growth and strength she gained through all of it are invaluable.
